Review of Prometheus!

First off, this was not a movie that was at the top of my "to watch" list. But, since I have watched all my favorites already, the pickens were slim, as they say..you know--them. Anyway, I thought it looked like a good enough action flick with some sci fi in there, couldn't be bad right? I have figured out that I am not a super sci fi junkie, even though I write sci fi fantasy, I think there is a difference between Star Trek and Star Wars, catch my drift? I'm not speaking Klingon and stuff. Okay, so the opening scene of this movie had me, it was stunning and it looked like it was going to be really different. I was so happy at first that they didn't decide to go with the same slimy squid-like aliens that everyone goes with that to me look like a woman's reproductive parts. Anyway, Prometheus's aliens were actually stunning formations of the human body. I liked that there was this question of whether we came from these beings or not, and whether they wanted us to find them for some special reason or not--that was a little different. But when it came down to it, there was a lot of the same ol' sci fi stuff; entering some unknown cave, alas finding slimy alien like things, and finding out that these aliens don't like us and don't want us alive afterall for some reason. Then at the end I was like Wa--? So strange. It leaves it open for a sequel and that to me was interesting because I couldn't see where this story could possibly go. But now I'm tempted to want to see the sequel since I felt like I was so at a loss for words at the end. Like, what the heck was that? And then, emerges the biggest slimiest squid-like creature ever and then a baby inside the humanoid alien, what the? Where could this possibly go and why? Oh and we were in the future already from the beginning. I felt like they were reaching too high for something out of the ordinary that they came up with something just like everything else with just a different setting and a whack storyline. I would rent this as a dollar movie just to have an interesting night. Three stars maybe...cause they've hooked me into seeing a sequel.

Thanks for stopping by, I love to see your comments and remember you get rewards points on the blog for leaving them. I am going to do a review of a cute little cartoon next cause I loved this movie so much. I'm leaving it a secret for now so check back to see what it is.
